Booking and payment

Tours booked through Viator, GetYourGuide or byFood are subject to that platform’s terms as well as these. For tours booked directly with us, we email you an invoice with a secure credit card payment link. Payment is made in advance, and your booking is confirmed once payment is complete.

Cancellation

If you booked directly with us, you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour starts, and we refund the amount paid less the card processing fee. Cancellations within 24 hours of the start, and no-shows, are not refunded. For the samurai sword lesson and the maiko experience, the same applies with one week in place of 24 hours. The time of cancellation is when we receive your notice, in Japan Standard Time.

If we cancel

If we cancel a tour, we refund everything you have paid. If we cancel because of weather, disaster, transport disruption or other causes beyond our control, you can choose a new date or a full refund, including the card processing fee. If the tour runs as planned and you decide not to join, the usual cancellation terms apply.

Your responsibilities

Please tell us in advance about mobility needs, allergies and dietary requirements. Japan is uneven and we can route around almost anything if we know first. Travel insurance is your responsibility and we recommend it.
